Amy R. Abrams, MSW/MPH, CMC, Vice President, Client Services
Amy has been working in the field of elder care in San Diego
since 1999, in medical case management, home care, and geriatric care
management. She earned bachelor degrees in Sociology and Women's Studies from
the University of California at San Diego, and a joint Master of Social Work
and Master of Public Health from San Diego State University. Amy is a member of
the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers, and is a
Certified Care Manager through the National Academy of Certified Care
Managers (NACCM). She is an active volunteer with the Alzheimer's
Association, facilitating a weekly support group for individuals with
early-stage Alzheimer's disease, and sits on the Board of Directors of the
Glenner Alzheimer's Family Centers.
Susan Bill, RN, Geriatric Care Manager
Susan brings to Elder Care Guides eighteen years of experience in nursing, health care management, and senior residential care administration. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina, and an Associate Degree of Nursing from the University of South Carolina. Upon returning to California in 2011, Susan decided to channel her skills and experience in patient education, family communication, and care planning by advocating for elders' quality of life as a professional geriatric care manager. She is passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals with dementia, and is an experienced support group facilitator. She is a licensed Registered Nurse in California, is currently a provisional member of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers, and is working toward care management certification.
Bonnie S. Grim, M.S., CMC, Geriatric Care Manager Bonnie joined Elder Care Guides in 2007 with wide-ranging experience in San Diego's elder care community, having worked within local not-for-profit and private agencies providing social services, residential care, and in-home assistance. While raising a family in her home state of Wisconsin, she cared for her parents as well, learning firsthand the complex issues of aging and caregiving. These experiences inspired and informed her career in elder care services. Bonnie earned a Masters of Nutritional Science at the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point. She is a long-time member of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers, and is a Certified Care Manager (NACCM).
Norman J. Hannay, MPS, CMC, President
Norman has been a practicing
Professional Geriatric Care Manager in San Diego since 1993 and is a Fellow of
the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers. He holds a
bachelor degree in Psychology from Trinity College, and a Masters in
Hospitality Administration from Cornell University. Norman earned a
post-graduate certificate in Geriatric Counseling from the University of
California at San Diego, and is a Certified Care Manager (NACCM). He founded Elder
Care Guides in 2004.
Elizabeth J. Reynolds, PHR, Human Resources Director
Elizabeth has ten years of experience in the local healthcare human resources industry, with extensive experience in talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and workplace investigations. She earned her bachelor degree at the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse, and holds a Human Resource Management Professional Certificate from San Diego State University. Elizabeth is an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management, both nationally and locally. She is responsible for employee recruitment and retention, performance management, employee relations, training and development, and benefits administration at Elder Care Guides.
Susan S. Valoff, LCSW, C-ASWCM, Vice President, Clinical Services
Susan
has been working in healthcare and geriatrics for the past 18 years, as a
rehabilitation hospital social worker, educator, healthcare administrator, and
geriatric care manager. She earned bachelor degrees in American Civilization
and Hispanic Literature and Culture from Brown University, and a Master of
Social Work from the University of Chicago. Susan is a Licensed Clinical Social
Worker (LCSW) in the State of California, and is credentialed as a Geriatric
Care Manager through the Certified Advanced Social Work Case Manager (C-ASWCM)
certification of the National Association of Social Workers. Susan is a member of the National Association of
Professional Geriatric Care Managers, and serves on the steering committee of the
San Diego Geriatric Care Managers Local Unit.
