Elder Care Guides is currently seeking a professional Live-In caregiver to join our team! Under general supervision, this position provides a variety of non-medical services including personal care, socialization, and light housekeeping duties that allow an elder to remain in their home environment.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Assist with bathing, dressing, and grooming of client on a routine basis.
Assist with toileting and incontinence issues of client as needed.
Provide stabilization and assistance with walking as needed, including transferring client to bed, chairs, wheelchair, etc., as required.
Manage dementia and Alzheimer's related behaviors, (i.e., wandering, paranoia) as required.
Prepare meals and clean-up meal-related items.
Provide medication reminders and appointment reminders.
Perform light housekeeping tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, making beds, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, and laundry.
Accompany client to personal and medical appointments.
SPECIFIC POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
One year of elder care experience, with at least 6 months of experience with Live-In work; or, equivalent experience and education in a certified CNA program
Experience working with client(s) with dementia
Able to lift, push, or pull 25 lbs.
Able to withstand exposure to dust, mold, and cleaning solutions
Able to treat and care for clients and their property with dignity and respect, and communicate with elders in a friendly, professional manner
Able to appropriately communicate with co-workers and supervisors in English, both written and spoken
Able to plan and complete assigned duties within allotted timeframes, and work independently
Able to drive own fully-insured vehicle
Able to provide minimal pet care (for two dogs)
Able to adapt to various living environments and locations, and stay overnight for a minimum of 2 consecutive days
This position will be 3-4 days/week, and all applicants must be able to work at least one weekend day
